Leadership...not just a dream

Good leaders are made not born. If you have the desire and willpower, you can become an effective leader. Good leaders develop through a never ending process of self-study, education, training, and experience.

Leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent.

People can choose to become leaders. People can learn leadership skills. This is the Transformational Leadership Theory. It is the most widely accepted theory today.

Why am I talking about Leadership... well, it was posed to me today to step up and take Leadership, take charge of my future and it really hit me.

So, how do I do that? I know a lot about Leadership....after all, I work for an organization that deals in what it takes to be a Leader and to be able to maintain it, but I all of a sudden, dont know HOW to be a Leader.

What do I need to do differently, how do I need to act, present myself, Be...approach people, bring up ideas? Should I walk more gracefully, do I cover my tattoos, what? Speak more clearly and slowly? Delegate more?

If you read any GOOD research on what Leadership is.. it will give you a ton of different traits, some of which I already posses.. in order to become a good Leader. It will also tell you things like, watch the bottom line.. which is important, pat your secretaries on the butt, and make sure they take good dictation.. I dont know... the point is... how do we measure a great Leader?

Folks, I am now on a quest, to become a Great Leader. Notice I did not say a "leader" but I said a Great Leader.

I guess I should start researching Great Women Leaders in history..... maybe one day my name will appear there.... scratch that.... it WILL be there!

What will MY title be: Hmmmmmmm......maybe
